SUMMARY:2022 Rev. L. Francis Griffin Day Observance
DESCRIPTION:Farmville\, VA: Join the Moton Museum for the annual Rev. L. Francis Griffin Day Observance. Dr. Derrick Alridge will share about his work with the Teachers in the Movement: Pedagogy\, Activism\, and Freedom Oral History Project. It explores ‘teachers’ ideas and pedagogy inside and outside the classroom during the U.S. Civil Rights Movement. \nRev. Griffin was known locally and nationally as the “fighting preacher\,” a civil rights advocate who helped to led the fight for civil rights in education and was a voice of opposition to the decision by Prince Edward County to close the public schools rather than integrate. The Rev. L. The program will take place at Radcliff Hall on the Longwood University Campus 310 Buffalo Street\, Farmville VA 23909.
