Each One, Teach One – NAACP + Student Citizens: A Professional Development Opportunity with the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Program and Moton Museum
The Robert Russa Moton Museum is pleased to offer 25 spots for K- 12 teachers interested in learning more about Moton Museum content and the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) program. This enriching professional development session is centered on the program’s core theme: Empowering Educators at Cultural Institutions: Bridging the Gap in Understanding and Teaching Rural School Desegregation.
Participants will engage in a content session led by Moton Museum staff that uses Library of Congress primary sources to highlight the role of the NAACP in desegregation and the powerful ways children helped shape the movement. Participants will also tour the museum’s historic galleries, explore Moton’s educational offerings, and learn how primary sources can enhance classroom instruction.
Lunch will be provided, and all participants will receive a certificate of completion.
This professional development opportunity is offered through the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources-funded project Empowering Educators at Cultural Institutions, supported by Old Dominion University and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Registration deadline , June 15th, 2025.
