Grand Opening

Join us as we officially open the Moton Library & Lounge, a new addition within the Robert Russa Moton Museum.

In partnership with the Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce, this ribbon cutting invites the community to experience the Moton story in a new way—one that extends the visitor experience beyond the galleries.

Where retail meets reflection, the Moton Library features a thoughtfully curated collection of books and resources that encourage learning, reflection, and discovery, alongside Moton merchandise, history-inspired gifts, artisan-made goods, and more. Just beyond the shelves, the Moton Lounge offers space to gather, reflect, and connect.

Event Schedule

• 4:00 p.m. – Mix, Mingle, and Light Refreshments
• 4:25 p.m. – Ribbon Cutting and Remarks from the Chamber and Moton staff
