Black History Month Jazz Concert

February 18, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

As a part of our signature programs we are pleased to bring back our Moton Jazz Concert. This concert which has occurred since 2018 has been a great way for people to get together over food, beverage, and music.

This year we will bring back Desiree Roots from Richmond, VA. Desiree has starred in over 30 stage productions. Recent theatre credits include lead roles as Effie White in DREAMGIRLS, Sofia in The Color Purple, and Caroline in Caroline or Change where she received the RTCC Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Desiree was previously at the Moton Museum in 2018 and performed for a packed house her tribute to Ella Fitzgerald.

Join us on February 18th at 6:00pm in the Moton Museum for food, drinks, and great music. This event is free and open to the public with donations encouraged.

Ways to Give to Moton

Any gift has the ability to make an impact that far exceeds its size. Together we can work to share the Moton Story and ensure that countless individuals know how Prince Edward County became the birthplace of the student-led civil rights movement.

2022 gifts helped us engage with more than 20,000 individuals via our onsite and offsite programming.
Help us continue this important work with your gift. All donations are tax deductible.
