Moton Museum Celebrates the 85th Birthday of the Historic Moton Building!

October 7 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Join us on October 7th from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at the Robert Russa Moton Museum as we commemorate 85 years of history and heritage. Built in the fall of 1939, this iconic building has been a witness to our community’s journey through the civil rights movement and beyond.

We’ll kick off with a brief program to honor the legacy of this special place, followed by a time to enjoy some delicious cake , share laughs , and reminisce about the memories that have made Moton so meaningful to us all.

Whether you’re reconnecting with old friends or making new ones, this celebration is the perfect way to reflect on the past and look forward to the future. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! This event is free and open to the public.

Ways to Give to Moton

Any gift has the ability to make an impact that far exceeds its size. Together we can work to share the Moton Story and ensure that countless individuals know how Prince Edward County became the birthplace of the student-led civil rights movement.

2022 gifts helped us engage with more than 20,000 individuals via our onsite and offsite programming.
Help us continue this important work with your gift. All donations are tax deductible.
