WE ARE BACK! A JOYFUL DAY OF PRAISE IS COMING TO THE HILL.

The Office of Culture and Community at Hampden-Sydney College and the Robert Russa Moton Museum invite you to join neighbors from across Southside Virginia and beyond for an uplifting afternoon of gospel music, heritage, and fellowship. After an earlier February postponement, we are honored to gather as we enter Holy Week with music that has lifted spirits and carried our communities for generations.

We’ve prayerfully curated an afternoon that brings together voices, movement, and ministry.

Elder Andre Blanton will serve as Master of Ceremony, guiding the afternoon with spirit and high energy. Featured is the award-winning and world-renowned Virginia State University Gospel Chorale, an iconic HBCU ensemble whose sound is steeped in sacred tradition and lifts hearts through song. Alongside them, our local favorites will take the stage in a powerful lineup of voices and movement, including The Royal Supremes, Shantina Ford, New Flame’s Excellent Praise Dancers, and special guests throughout the program, each bringing their own anointing and artistry to this gathering.

This afternoon promises powerful music and joyful celebration. A Gospel explosion? More like a Gospel BOOM!
