Memorial Day Weekend: We Are Open

Memorial Day weekend carries many traditions, time with family, travel, cookouts, and community gatherings. At its heart, though, it remains a time of remembrance.

This weekend, we honor the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice continues to shape the freedoms we live with today, and we pause in gratitude and remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

As a museum dedicated to American history and civic understanding, we also reflect on the ongoing pursuit of equality, education, and citizenship that continues to shape our nation’s story.

If your Memorial Day weekend plans bring you through Farmville, we invite you and your family to visit the Robert Russa Moton Museum and walk the halls where students helped change American history.

Ways to Give to Moton

Any gift has the ability to make an impact that far exceeds its size. Together we can work to share the Moton Story and ensure that countless individuals know how Prince Edward County became the birthplace of the student-led civil rights movement.

2022 gifts helped us engage with more than 20,000 individuals via our onsite and offsite programming.
Help us continue this important work with your gift. All donations are tax deductible.
